CHRISTOPHER C. DEMETREE SR., CEO
Mr. Demetree’ career has encompassed both operating and investment management responsibilities across multiple industries. Before taking the position of CEO of Lazlo, he was a founder and partner in V-P Ventures, a private investment firm focused on early stage and private equity transactions. Prior to co-founding VPV, Chris spent approximately 2 years with Recordant, Inc. an Alpharetta, Ga. based startup company. He joined Recordant as part of the initial management team where he served as the Chief Operating Officer charged with identifying, establishing, implementing and managing the relationships with Recordant’s corporate business partners. He and the CEO successfully secured, in two separate transactions, over $12M in venture capital funding within 18 months of launch.
In 2003, he founded Asset Growth Strategies, AGS, a private equities and consulting company focused on early stage and co-investment opportunities. Through AGS, Mr. Demetree was active with 3 companies focused in both private and government markets.
Prior to AGS, Chris served as CEO of Intelligenxia, Inc., an advanced analytical software company. Intelligenxia was one of the 1st technology companies to offer solutions in the unstructured data mining arena. The company successfully licensed its software to large systems integrators focused on Dept. of Defense knowledge discover systems.
In 1998, Demetree also co-founded Urban Media, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based telecommunications company. Urban Media focused on small and medium sized enterprises and operated as a CLEC in fourteen (14) states with product offerings including voice, broadband data, and e-commerce service.
Throughout his career, Demetree has remained active with Demetree Brothers Inc., a real estate and investment company, effectively using his previous experience in commercial development.
Demetree is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned a degree in industrial management. He is married with four children.
